TAICHUNG, Taiwan — July 16, 2026 — The launch press conference for the 2026 Smart Taichung Forum was held today, marking the official countdown to the main forum scheduled for August 26, 2026. Jointly organized by the Digital Development Bureau of Taichung City Government and Tunghai University, the forum will bring together leaders from government, academia and industry to explore the future of Physical AI, autonomous robotics and smart city transformation.

j-mex Inc. and Techman Robot were honored to participate as technology partners for the launch ceremony, jointly presenting an interactive Physical AI demonstration that integrated full-body motion capture, human-to-robot motion mapping and real-time teleoperation.

The collaboration demonstrated how precise human movements can be translated into responsive robot actions, highlighting the potential of Taiwan-developed technologies to accelerate innovation in intelligent robotics, human-robot collaboration and smart city applications.

Turning Human Motion into Robot Intelligence

j-mex and Techman Robot Demonstrate Real-Time Teleoperation

At the launch press conference, j-mex and Techman Robot jointly demonstrated an advanced real-time teleoperation application.

The j-mex motion capture system tracked the operator’s movements and transmitted the motion data to the Techman collaborative robot through a parameterized robot-joint mapping framework. The robot responded in real time, translating human intent into smooth and coordinated robotic actions.

During the closing ceremony, the collaborative robot presented an invitation to Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen and interacted with her through a handshake. The demonstration offered a vivid example of how Physical AI can connect sensing, intelligence and physical action to create more intuitive forms of human-robot interaction.

The ceremony concluded as government, academic and industry representatives jointly activated the launch sphere, officially opening the countdown to the 2026 Smart Taichung Forum.
